Financial Analyst Job Opening in Phoenix, Arizona - Job Description:
The Plant Finance Analyst will be responsible to provide financial support and reporting to plant operations and corporate accounting/finance. This position manages all cost accounting for the plant, some GL accounting activity, maintains internal controls and reports to the Finance at corporate headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona with dotted line to Plant Manager in Phoenix.
Responsibilities of the Plant Finance Manager:
Work with closely with plant management partnering on all financial aspects of operations
Participate in required meetings with plant operations & finance to discuss all plant-related issues
Develop and maintain accurate product cost standards, including bills of materials, direct labor, variable and fixed costs
Ensure financial controls and policies regarding cost of goods sold, inventory transactions, fixed assets, freight and other operations expenses are being followed
Establish and maintain accurate labor records for production jobs and perform analysis and resolution of variances
Complete a weekly plant financial scorecard, provide insightful input and analysis at daily and weekly operations meetings
Review weekly yield results with operations and request explanation for all material variances
Analyze and report on production labor and material variances on a basis
Manage plant's capital budget and spending, prepare capex proposals with ROI analysis
Work actively with plant manager to identify and quantify opportunities on cost reductions/improve efficiencies
Analyze/reconcile inventory control cycle counts and other month end inventory related tasks
Review and reconcile the open purchase order report keep track of spare parts inventory
Prepare cost estimates for new products for pricing purposes
Provide estimate of plant performances, assist in preparation of annual operating budget
Bridge plant financial results, from actual to forecast/Budget
Assisting in the review and development of new labor and overhead rates, budget and forecasts
Other duties as assigned
Desired Qualifications & Experience Require :
5-7 years of cost accounting experience in manufacturing (food or consumer industry a plus)
Minimum of a BA; CPA and/or MBA preferred
Technological savvy, strong Excel skills, experience working with ERP System (SYSPRO a plus)
Advanced knowledge of cost accounting methodologies and practices
Keen analytic, organization and problem solving skills which allows for strategic data interpretation versus simple reporting
Strong interpersonal and effective communication skills
Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy, timeliness and detailed analysis
"Can do" attitude and "roll up your sleeve"? and strong hands-on work ethic
Local candidates preferred, relocation assistance will not be offered
Working Conditions: Primarily in an office environment with frequent presence on production floor. Periodic weekend or evening work is expected.
