Network Administrator Job Opening in Oskaloosa, Iowa - Network Administrator Education Requirements:
Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field of study. Combination of education and related field experience will be considered beyond the minimum experience requirement.
Network Administrator Primary Responsibilities:
The Network Administrator reports to the Director of Information Technology and provides MHP with support, installation and maintenance of all MHP?s IT infrastructure technologies that include: desktop and server hardware/software, IT infrastructure security, VOIP systems, LAN/WLAN.
Provides end user support of new and existing technology tools and processes along with helpdesk support.
Installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of end user workstation hardware, software and peripheral devices which include: business class laptops, desktops, thin clients, cellular phones, tablets and multi-function peripherals.
Administer, maintain and perform workstation and server imaging.
Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions and access rights.
Administer, maintain and troubleshoot Digium VOIP system as needed.
Day to day server management within physical server and VMWare infrastructure that include: file, print, Exchange email, domain controllers, application servers, database servers, SAN and execution of data backup strategies.
Specify, build, and manage VMWare hosts and guests.
Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information as requested.
Recommend, schedule and perform core computing and network improvements, upgrade and repairs.
Maintain and examine infrastructure monitoring applications. Respond to and resolve monitoring alerts within organizations published SLA?s.
Respond to emergency system outages in accordance with business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
Performs and documents security risk assessments and analysis as required with new technology and existing compliance needs. Mitigates risks to discovered vulnerabilities as needed.
Documents processes and procedures related to operational tasks performed.
Participates in the development of long-term strategic goals for systems and software in conjunction with end-users, IT co-workers, and IT Director.
Performs on call support as rotated throughout the department?s team members.
Network Administrator Required Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years experience in IT infrastructure design, implementation and operational support in a complex computing environment. Preference given to those candidates who have current or prior experience administering and supporting an IT infrastructure in a healthcare IT environment.
Impeccable customer service skills among all skill levels, including non-technical staff. This is a must!
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Able to work on a team or in an individual setting.
Excellent problem-solving skills with root cause analysis, current knowledge of technology and the ability to be a constant learner.
MS Windows Server administration experience including hardening strategies and techniques
MS Exchange, Active Directory/GPO operational experience
Firewall, VPN, Remote Access, WLAN configuration and maintenance experience
Scripting using various tools for automated deployment of system changes and software applications
Demonstrated excellence in critical thinking, working independently including decision-making, time management skills, and strong attention to detail.
Experience organizing and/or managing projects and producing documentation
Must be available to work in an on-call rotation and be available to assist other on-call staff as needed to support critical emergency outages
Must be able to climb ladders and stairs, pull cables through ceilings as needed, and reach around obstacles as required to maintain IT infrastructure.
