Senior Staff Accountant Job Opening in Richmond, Virginia - Senior Staff Accountant
General Summary:
The Senior Staff Accountant will be responsible to research, document, and provide guidance on the technical accounting issues in accordance with GAAP as well as take on a more senior role in the area of our more challenging accounting transactions.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Keeping abreast of the latest accounting
Documenting the company?s position on technical accounting areas such as revenue recognition and software development costs.
Working with auditors to support accounting positions taken by the company.
Preparing policy and procedures.
Training management and departments on the latest accounting guidance and policies.
Reviewing customer and vendor contracts, identifying technical accounting issues and providing guidance.
Other projects as assigned.
Capitalization/Op Ex of our software development
Travel Accounting included but not limited to commissions, overrides and rebates.
Required competencies:

Education and experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or comparable degree, CPA required.
3-5 years of experience in Accounting
Proficiency with MS Windows and MS Office software, especially Excel.
Demonstrated proficiency in the handling of large data elements is preferred.
