Quality Assurance Analyst Job Opening in Cincinnati, Ohio - SUMMARY:
We are looking for a Quality Assurance Analyst who will be responsible for assuring the quality of software products delivered by the company. The QA Analyst will accomplish this by working with developers, business analysts and customers to validate that licensed programs are fully and consistently delivering the business values desired by our customers. The QA Analyst will work to test and document functionality and defects using AGILE testing methodologies including manual, exploratory and automated testing of licensed programs.
REQUIRED:
Experience in a software testing role
Excellent communication and problem solving skills
Ability to communicate and interact with all levels
Ability to respond to off-hours and weekend calls as required
Familiar with Software Development Lifecycle
Strong analytical skills
Ability to work within a team, and if needed, independently at a very fast paced environment
Ability to travel, occasionally overnight
PREFERRED:
A two year technical degree or formal technical training with relevant experience
Previous POS software testing and background a plus
XML skills and the ability to read JAVA desirable but not mandatory
Ability to create auto tests
Application testing experience with automated testing tools (QTP, xUnit, Selenium, Fitnesse, etc.) * Proficiency in several skill areas such as Java , SQL databases, web services hosting platforms (WebSphere, Apache/Tomcat, etc.) preferred, administrative scripting (PERL, Bourne Shell, etc.)
Understanding of fundamental networking protocols and services (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP)
Familiarity with multiple operating systems and platforms (Windows, Linux, commercial UNIX such as Solaris or AIX.)
