Currently seeking a Health Insurance Verification Specialist for a great opportunity in the Vernon Hills, IL area. The ideal candidate will possess 5+ years of experience with health insurance, benefits investigations, and or reimbursement as well as 3+ years of experience providing patient communications and financial counseling for a healthcare provider, preferably in a call center environment.
Responsibilities of the Health Insurance Verification Specialist
Responsible for verifying patient?s insurance coverage for medical diagnostic testing.
Contact various insurance companies to confirm insurance coverage and eligibility.
Estimate benefits coverage and patient out of pocket costs.
Obtain referrals and authorizations as needed.
Make outbound phone calls to patients to discuss payment options.
Update records with complete patient and insurance information.
Requirements of the Health Insurance Verification Specialist
Bachelor?s degree preferred, high school diploma required and relevant experience in healthcare field
5 or more years of experience with health insurance, benefits investigations, and or reimbursement
3 or more years of experience providing patient communications and financial counseling for a healthcare provider, preferably in a call center environment
Experience with Microsoft Office and computer systems, preferably Customer Relationship Management systems
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Strong attention to detail
Compensation of the Health Insurance Verification Specialist
Salary: $18.00 /hour
