Operations Manager Job Description
The Operations Manager provides overall operational and administrative direction for all activities related to multiple advanced practice clinics. This position handles all start-up functions, from training, on-boarding and set-up through and including ongoing operations. The Operations Manager is responsible for managing local and corporate client relationships. The position involves supervision and leadership within a team environment of all full-time, part-time and contract clinic staff at multiple clinic sites. This position manages budget and controls expenses, effectively. The Operations Manager is an operations management team member and reports to the VP of Operations. In collaboration with executive management and supervising physicians, this position helps support and manage the clinical mission and objectives of the clinics. Significant travel is required, up to 75%. Candidates must live near a major airport in the Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Dayton or Louisville metro areas or willing to relocate to said metropolitan areas.
Responsible for managing local and corporate client relationships including: developing a professional and personal relationship that engenders trust and respect; promoting PMR Healthcare?s ethics and values; understanding the organizational and political environment of the clinics.
Through direct supervision of the clinic manager, the operations manager is responsible for the management and leadership of staff at clinic sites including: supervision of staff which involves direct and indirect responsibilities for interviewing, selection, training, motivating, wage and salary administration, documented & timely feedback, performance appraisal, developing goals, and developing procedures to ensure achievement of goals.
Responsible for budget management at assigned clinics, including: maximizing revenue generation; controlling expenses; maximizing cash flow and volume, and assisting with site budget setting process.
Accountable for assuring standard operating procedures are in place and utilized in clinics in addition to growth in clinic volumes and services.
Develops relationships with client executives.
Works closely with PMR?s corporate office to share information and improve the quality of our clinic services and solve problems in the field.
Responsible for sites including: coordination with corporate, training needs, local client relations; coordination with PMR and client IT staff for computer requirements and needs; coordination with PMR HR for staffing needs; coordination with PMR accounting to confirm accounting procedures; insure medical and office supplies are in place; support training via PMR training department and other development of staff as needed.
Institutes and participates in regular staff meetings and operations management team meetings.
Work effectively and relates well with others including supervisors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the company.
The Operations Manager must:
Have at least 3-6 years of relevant health care management or medical group management experience.
Have practical experience in a hospital, health system, clinic or medical practice with experience including superior customer service skills and conflict resolution.
Be able to manage budgets.
Have solid operational skills; ability to recognize workflow problems and redesign new processes/workflow and create buy-in from all customers on change.
Have a proven track record of successful fiscal management.
Be able to quickly establish credibility and respect with practitioners, physicians, nurses and client executive leaders.
Be able to effectively work throughout a complex matrix environment and effectively manage day-to-day operations The Operations Manager Should:
Have working knowledge of workers compensation and occupational health and wellness.
Have strong operational expertise.
Have strong ethics and unwavering integrity.
Be an advocate for clients, an advocate for patients, and an advocate for PMR Healthcare.
