Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Oversight and primary responsibility for the monthly close process at the Richmond, VA facility
Review and analyze general ledger activity to ensure timely and accurate recording of transactions, including coordination with shared services, payroll, finance partners and other functional areas
Coordinate the monthly close process amongst the other business unit locations and help drive standardization of policies and procedures
Reconcile all balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis
Primary owner of inventory cost accounting and the related bills of materials in order to ensure costing accurately reflects operations
Involved in the cycle count and physical inventory processes with operations
Assist in the completion of certain governmental reporting (property tax, sales/use tax) as necessary
Assist in the coordination and response to audit requests in a timely manner
Ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and the Company's documented accounting policies
Partners with plant, divisional and corporate management to help understand and interpret financial performance
Focus on identifying efficiencies and continuous process improvement

Responsible for adhering to and enforcing a sound internal control environment
Respond to divisional and corporate requests for information in a timely manner
Assist in the completion of special projects.
Education and Experience Profile
5+ years of related experience as a plant controller or accounting manager in a manufacturing environment
S. in accounting or finance related field
Proficient with ERP systems and advanced use of Microsoft Excel
CPA preferred

Strong attention to detail and accuracy, sound organizational skills
Ability to work well under pressure, deadline oriented and the ability to manage and adapt to change
Ability to travel between facility locations on a regular basis
