Job Description
The Business Manager reports to the President/CEO and oversees the daily accounting operations of the business and the overall financial planning, budgeting and accounting practices. The Business Manager maintains an adequate system of accounting records and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, ensure the accuracy of the company?s reported financial results and maximize profit. Supervises the daily accounting operations to ensure efficient cash management, smooth flow of all transactions, clean records and recording all transactions in compliance with internal controls. Tasked with delivering periodic financial reports that comply with accepted accounting principles. Responsible for all Human Resource Management and various other aspects of the business.
Responsibilities
Oversees the financial and accounting system and all office personnel.
Prepare Monthly budgets/reports and financial statements.
Forecasting financial goals for each quarter to maintain dealership?s profitability.
Maintain guidelines for the extension of credit terms to customers.
Process all insurance claims and liability insurance.
Reviewing all financial statements and ledgers, and working with the staff to clear up any discrepancies.
Prepares all taxes and filing forms with the government and complies with local, state and federal reporting requirements and tax filings.
Oversees vendor management and outsourcing as necessary.
Oversees Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivables.
Maintain effective cash management system.
File judgements, attend court as necessary.
Ensure staff is cross trained as appropriate.
Meeting with staff regularly to go over business matters and develop plans to increase profitability.
Reports significant budget variances to the President/CEO.
Oversees compliance with the company?s internal control program.
Human Resource Administration: Payroll, IRA program, PTO, Onboarding, Evaluations, Discipline, Terminations, Insurance.
Renew Finance and Dealer licenses.
Department of Commerce Audits and Annual Reporting
Vehicle Pricing
Revise and keep updated Operations Manual for all positions and departments within company.
Establish team atmosphere through leadership and employee development.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Must have a minimum five to seven years of relevant experience. Must have strong communication (verbal and written), customer service, leadership and organizational skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills to interact professionally with customers, vendors and staff.
Ability to deal with confidential information appropriately.
Highly organized with ability to manage multiple responsibilities and duties at one time.
Strong attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), or the equivalent, is expected and familiarity with additional accounting software (Quickbooks) and CRM.
High School Diploma is required. Two- or Four- year degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related experience is preferred.
