Description:
BMM is currently seeking a highly motivated individual to work as a Staff Accountant. Candidate will be responsible for performing a wide variety of accounting and tax assignments.
Duties:
Preparation of entity and individual federal, state and local income tax returns including those with multiple states
Performance of audit and review procedures as assigned by supervisors
Assistance with maintaining client records
Recording transactions in ledgers
Reconciling subsidiary ledgers
Preparing trial balances
Preparing financial statements
Preparation of payroll, personal property, sales and use tax, and other local returns
Performance of other accounting, audit, and tax duties as needed in engagements and as assigned by supervisory personnel
Requirements:
Bachelor?s or Master?s degree in Accounting required
CPA or currently working toward obtaining licensure
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent problem-solving skills
Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
Organizational and time-management skills
Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
Experience in GAAP accounting
1 to 2 years of experience in public accounting and/or tax preparation preferred but not required
Proficient in both general & accounting related software with preferred experience in ProSystems, Engagement, QuickBooks and Microsoft Office
