Founded in 2004, AE has implemented Engineering and Analytics solutions for numerous Fortune 500 companies. AE seeks a Senior Software Engineer for one of it's clients located in Cincinnati, OH. This is a contract position with an opportunity for permanent placement.
This Software Engineer, R&D, will work with internal and external teams to develop advanced medical instruments.
This position will lead the definition, design, development, implementation, and integration of embedded software on medical devices.
This individual must collaborate with internal and external customers, partners, and consultants to effectively communicate and deliver novel surgical instruments to market.
Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor?s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science is required.
A minimum of 10 years ? experience in low level embedded software product design. 3 years? experience in an FDA-regulated environment is required.
The following skills are key to success in this position:
Experience designing, developing, and launching Class C software medical devices.
Strong software architecture design and analysis skills,
A firm understanding and participation in all phases of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
Experience designing with ARM Architectures.
Experience with Object Oriented analysis and design.
Ability to develop Test Tools Software using Microsoft .
Quality Test Engineering experience.
Experience with Real Time Operating Systems and Configurable Logic is preferred.
Candidate should be proficient in interpreting schematic diagrams and component data sheets to drive design.
Building prototypes, products, and systems for testing; along with setting up and running laboratory simulations.
Excellent collaboration and teaming skills
Experience translating high-level customer needs
Conducting and/or participating in technical design reviews of requirements, specifications, designs, etc.
Strong understanding of design control.
Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
Primary responsibilities:
Provide technical input to embedded software design and implementation to develop and finalize product software for a medical device
Able to perform requirements management including creation, review, and verification of software and product requirements
Submission and tracking of software design changes
Review of DV protocols
Review and creation of software risk management documents
Building prototypes, products, and systems for testing; along with setting up and running laboratory simulations.
Troubleshooting software issues on a mechanical system.
Work with an external supplier for software development
Conducting and/or participating in technical design reviews of requirements, specifications, designs, etc.
