Job Title : Dairy Supply Sales Specialist I
Job Objectives:
To establish, develop and maintain a positive rapport with all current and potential customers;
To make regular periodic ?on-farm? calls of Excel?s current and potential customers;
To help ensure customer?s expectations of our products and services are exceeded;
To perform work safely, efficiently and effectively;
To be a positive ambassador for the company in all situations;
To be a good team member and accept varying assignments gladly.
Immediate Supervisors: Denver Fox, Outside Sales
Supervision Exercised (positions supervised): None
Typical Work Mode: Afternoon preparation ?load truck after completing daily route for the next day; Daily schedule ?be on the first dairy normally around 7am every morning

Involves some lifting and moving of heavy items
On-farm conditions vary regarding cattle, noise and machinery hazards
Exposure to varying weather conditions, etc.

Job Duties, Responsibilities and Expectations
Maintain and increase the sales of dairy supplies BY making ?on-farm? calls on a regular basis beginning by 7AM; restock products already purchasing; awareness of what is happening; look for opportunities to solve problems; determine needs, wants and desires; knowing the features and benefits of the products; be prepared and present at least one new item each on-farm call; timely following up with producer; keeping usage records by producer; asking for the business, etc.
Learn to conduct dairy farm analyses BY profiling customers to help identify the: dairy hygiene supplies, animal pharmaceuticals, equipment, parts and services being used; completing wash-ups and cost/wash analyses; using the Tri-Scan; evaluating teat ends, locomotion analysis, etc.
Help to increase the sales of other farm equipment and products BY knowing in detail what Excel offers its customers and knowing the customers operations?, anticipating their needs, suggesting products and services, passing leads to other people, helping to close sales, etc.
Obtain and maintain a Class A CDL, with air brakes along with a Haz Mat endorsement BY following and abiding by all applicable regulations.
Consistently present a professional image to the customer By being appropriately dressed, using socially acceptable personal hygiene practices, keeping both the inside and outside of the company vehicle clean and well organized.
Properly complete and submit all paperwork on a timely basis By following the ?Accounting & Reporting Schedule?, company procedures and timeframes for thoroughly completing Sales Invoices, Expense Reports, time records, call reports, etc.
Must communicate effectively with co-workers and customers in English By proactively using good written and assertive oral communication skills; bi-lingual in Spanish very helpful.

By behaving courteously, assertively, and professionally while continuously maintaining a positive attitude about the job, the customers, co-workers and the company.

QUALIFICATIONS (an acceptable combination of the following)
Education, Experience
Minimum High School diploma or equivalent
Dairy industry experience, helpful
Sales experience, helpful
Skills & Abilities
Ability to develop positive relationships and rapport with customers
Ability to determine a customer?s needs, wants and desires
Ability to effectively communicate with customers and co-workers
Ability to close sales
Basic computer skills and knowledge
Other Requirements
A driving record that is insurable
Valid Driver?s License with Class A CDL and Haz Mat Endorsement
Automobile insurance as required by law

Salary: $36,000.00 to $70,000.00 /year
