Home Health Aide Job Opening in Springfield, Missouri - CareMinder's Home Care is now accepting patients within the greater Springfield area so we are filling several skilled and unskilled healthcare postions.
The home health aid is an entry level position that does not require previous healthcare experience. Previous customer service or retail experience is preferred.
Hours are part time with opportunities for additional hours depending on the case load.
Description
Accountability Objective
The companion/Homemaker Caregiver is an employee at least 21 years of age who will provide primarily custodial, companion and homemaker services in the client?s home. This caregiver will provide a variety of tasks for clients, including but not limited to meal planning, preparation and serving. General companionship designed to keep the client engaged in life is a priority. Other duties may include light housekeeping, laundry and medication reminders.
Qualifications
Education
The Companion/Homemaker Caregiver will demonstrate basic training in a home care service or evidence of a willingness to work with people in need of services. High school graduate or GED required or a combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the duties of this job. Must have current CPR certification and First Aid Training as a condition of hire.
Experience
At least one year experience in caring for the elderly in a home environment.
Evidence of an interest in and ability to work with people.
Good grooming and personal hygiene is evident including no visible tattoos or body piercing other than earrings.
Past employment indicates dependability, ability to follow directions and good judgement and emotional maturity.
Willingness and ability to follow directions from supervision and training.
Ability to document daily activities in writing (English is required) and do simple math.
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with positive attitude and personality.
Evidence of homemaking and cooking skills.
Ability to work with all levels of management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Builds strong relationships with other caregivers and clients/families.
Documents and maintain accurate records of daily tasks in compliance with company policy and procedure.
Has ability to observe and report accurately.
Maintain communication with supervisor and family and will report emergency or problem situations immediately.
Ability to maintain a clean and safe home, prepares meals according to special diet as identified on the Service Plan.
Must participate in training and continuing education in compliance with Franchisor rules.
Must maintain auto insurance and a safe driving record.
Must be able to perform tasks identified on the Service Plan or Plan of Treatment.
Any other duties as may be assigned.
Compliance Responsibilities
Performs job duties in compliance with Federal, State and local Rules and Regulations and Company and Franchisor policies and procedures.
Maintains confidentiality of client information in compliance with State and Federal law.
Adheres to and demonstrates CareMinders̉ Home Care culture and core values as defined in the Code of Conduct.
Must demonstrate a stable, drug free background with no criminal record.
Must have a safe driving record as evidence by a DMV.
Protects the confidential nature of brand specific information and patient information in compliance with HIPAA .
Job Type: Part-time
Salary: $12.50 to $15.50 /hour
