Senior IP Engineer Job Opening in Dallas, Texas - Senior IP Engineer for consideration, email resume to . technology has a client that is north of downtown dallas seeking an ip engineer. this is a direct hire opportunity. this permanent position requires scripting and/or automation knowledge in perl, python, linux, c++, etc. if you have prior experience working for a service provider company, that is a plus. the network engineering position will perform all activities associated with the creation, maintenance and support of all network elements. duties include high level routing, switching and mpls network engineering, configuration and support. essential functions and requirements: 1. project management 2. good working knowledge of windows operating systems. 3. familiar with microsoft office applications such as outlook, word, excel, powerpoint and visio. 4. good working knowledge of adtran, brocade, alu/nokia and cisco routers. 5. good working knowledge of routing protocols (ospf,isis and bgp). 6. good working knowledge of mpls l2/l3. 7. good understanding of mef 2.0/3.0 standards. 8. good working knowledge of stp, rstp, 8032erp. 9. good working knowledge of wireshark 10. good knowledge local area network. 11. good knowledge wide area network knowledge. 12. base working knowledge of ethernet based fiber optic networks as well as sonet and dwdm. 13. provide support to tier 2 and tier 3 support/noc staff. 14. ability to manage lab testing projects and document accordingly. 15. ability to create, review and implement change management procedures as needed. 16. may be required to travel to other markets for special projects or training. 17. good interpersonal skills. 18. adheres to policies and procedures; ? attends work on time as scheduled; ? required to call in to report an absence no less than one hour prior to the start of the shift by contacting the supervisor directly and stating reason for absence; ? minimizes safety hazards by following all safety rules and procedures. 19. perform other duties from time to time as requested by the vice-president/cto or as business needs dictate. educational requirements: recommended to have a college degree or 4 to 6 years? experience in major area. an base knowledge in network design and or architecture. candidate should have at least two of the following or equivalent work experience of 4 to 6 years in network engineering, management and development: 1. brocade certified network engineer (bcne) 2. cisco certified network administrator (ccna) 3. nokia network routing specialist ii (nrsii) certified
