Medical Records Supervisor Job Opening in Boise, Idaho - Treasure Valley Hospital is a 10-bed, Joint Commission accredited surgical facility located in Boise, Idaho, which was named as the #1 Hospital in the Nation in 2012 by CMS for patient satisfaction. We are looking for a qualified Medical Records Supervisor to join our dedicated Team. This is a full-time position, day shift.
License or Certification: Registered Health Information Technician preferred but not required.
Education and Experience:
Associates degree in Health Information Management or other healthcare-related field is preferred.
Previous Medical Records experience is preferred.
Previous experience as a supervisor is preferred.
Interpersonal Relations: Interaction with patients, families, physicians, teammates, visitors, contractors, and vendors must be in a manner that is friendly, positive, supportive, courteous, respectful, cooperative, and professional. Behavior must promote an atmosphere of teamwork which is consistent with hospital standards and guidelines.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Working knowledge of Excel and Word
Functional knowledge of medical terminology
Ability to type 50-60 words per minute
Ability to do several tasks at the same time
Ability to research information
Ability to organize work and meet deadlines
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Ability to prioritize
Develop short- and long-term goals for the department
Ensure hospital compliance with state licensure, JCAHO, and HIPAA regulations
Resolve medical record discrepancies
Know how and when to provide medical record information to patients, hospital staff, law firms, insurance companies, and government agencies
Orient, train, and monitor new and existing department employees
Serve on hospital committees as needed
