Purchase of goods and services necessary to manufacture HTI products from approved sources. Coordinates activities involved with procuring goods and services such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, and advertising for organization by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Reviews requisitions. Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
Selects products for purchase by testing, observing, or examining items. Estimates values according to knowledge of market price.
Determines method of procurement such as direct purchase or bid.
Prepares purchase orders (prioritized order placement as needed) or bid requests (RFQ Packages).
Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
Approves invoices for posting. Participates in invoice resolution (difference between invoice and PO?s).
Expedites delivery of goods to users.
Follow-up on Open/Late Orders.
Part maintenance and price breaks in system.
Cost containment and reduction.
Shipping and receiving problem resolution.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain Management or technical school; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Epicor/Vantage Accounting software; MS Outlook Contact Management systems; MS Internet Explorer internet software; Epicor/Vantage Inventory software; Epicor/Vantage Manufacturing software; MS Project project management software; MS Excel spreadsheet software and MS Word word processing software.
