Payroll and Benefits Manager Job Opening in Lansing, Michigan - Under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer, is responsible for administration, processing and supervision of the Payroll, Employee Benefit, Retiree Benefit functions, and assigned staff. Responsible for ACA, payroll tax, and retirement reporting and compliance. Researches and evaluates benefit options and report on benefit costs. Works closely with the budget and financial functions of the organization. Monitors and evaluates the impact of federal and state law on the agency in relationship to payroll and benefits including compliance with collective bargaining agreements. Responsible for carrying out all activities of the department in such a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI?s mission, policies and procedures.
Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting, Business or related field required. A minimum of three years related experience and experience in a lead position or progressively more responsible position is required. Experience with payroll and insurance benefit administration, retirement systems, deferred compensation, section 125 benefit administration, COBRA compliance, contract negotiation and interpretation, in a multi-union setting preferred. Experience with a computerized compensation system required. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing required
