RobinsonBush is a professional consulting firm specializing in all facets of employee health and welfare benefits. The firm provides consulting services to large public and private sector employers and statewide employer coalitions.
The Healthcare Analytics Specialist will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the data used for data analysis as well as using various data sources to create reports with in depth analysis for clients. Also, the Healthcare Analytics Specialist will assist the Senior Analytics Consultant with modeling options for clients related to plan design and other cost containment strategies.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Reporting
Create monthly financial statements using membership, revenue, claims expense, and other financial items.
Analyze cost fluctuation monthly and identify origin.
Create quarterly utilization reports using data from databases and monthly reports.
Analyze cost and utilization fluctuations and identify origins and possible interventions.
Calculate trends mathematically and graphically.
Assists Senior Analytics Consultant and actuary to create year end reports for clients.
Create custom reports as requested by client.
Data Management
Obtain data from healthcare carriers and others for all RobinsonBush clients. This includes using web tools and data detail from carriers, enrollment vendors, and other potential data sources.
Organize data into databases and reporting systems.
Assists SQL programmer with testing and integration of SQL database.
Interface with carriers and information services vendor on data integrity and reporting.
Ensure privacy and security protocols are maintained at all times.
Skills and Specifications:
Detail oriented and concerned for quality of work.
1-5 years experience in health plan analytics, health insurance, or other healthcare related field.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Access.
SQL experience preferred.
Financial Reporting experience.
Basic understanding of medical terminology.
Ability to manage projects from inception to completion in a fast paced environment.
Ability to communicate technical data to non-technical audiences.
Ability to solve problems using a logical and thoughtful approach.
Ability to independently plan and organize one?s own activities.
Education and Certification:
Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Informatics, or other Business related field.
Certification in healthcare related field preferred (e.g. HIMSS)
