Bachelor?s Degree in Communications, Public Health, or a similar field. Minimum two to three years of related experience with demonstrated success. Excellent oral and written communication skills. The successful candidate must be a strong writer with the ability to write in a number of different styles for widely varying audiences. He/she must have a high level of general computer and Internet proficiency. Candidate must be a great team player, possessing flexibility, good follow-through, and outstanding diplomatic and interpersonal skills. He/she must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines; and also be able to work creatively, while functioning as a member of a cooperative and coordinated team.
Must have a strong interest in the organization's mission and be able to work effectively in teams and across organizational lines, as well as manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines. Occasional weekends and evening events. Knowledge of Raiser?s Edge helpful.
The Development and Communications Coordinator works closely with the entire Development Department to maintain donor records and ensure data integrity, handling print and electronic correspondence, and participating in high volume mailings. This position processes gifts and prepares routine electronic reports. It is a primary point of contact for development-related inquiries. The Development and Communications Coordinator contributes to the achievement of TCC fundraising goals in a fast-paced setting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:
Respond promptly and cordially to general donor inquiries via phone, mail, and email. Assist with bulk mailings and donor outreach.
Manually and electronically process daily gifts, weekly acknowledgements, and monthly charges with speed and meticulous attention to detail.
Conduct basic data searches and update constituent records in the database according to organization protocols.
Maintain complete and accurate electronic and hard files.
Perform high volume data entry and other administrative tasks as needed.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to convey information clearly to a wide audience
Client focused approach in both spoken and written interactions
Highly proficient computer skills with demonstrated knowledge and practical application of internet, Word, Excel and donor database systems
Ability to learn new software quickly
Excellent organizational and problem solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple and shifting priorities and projects
Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive donor information
Excellent attention to detail and follow through with an emphasis on accuracy
Demonstrated ability and willingness to take initiative and problem-solve
Ability to work both independently and as a team player
Knowledge of federally qualified health center issues a plus
Previous non-profit, health center experience preferred
Responsible for special projects related to our annual fundraising events. (i.e. Reach Out and Read, Baby2Baby and the Annual Beach Walk)
Perform other duties and special projects, as assigned.

Work Environment
The noise level of the work environment is usually moderate. Work-space is in an indoor office setting, shared work-space, air conditioned in the summer and central heat during the winter. Occasionally required to be outdoors for travel, and can be exposed to variable weather conditions.
