Assistant Controller Job Opening in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - Senior Accounting Manager/Assistant Controller
Our Client is looking for a high-energy Assistant Controller with potential to scale with their growing operations domestically as well as globally. The Assistant Controller will be responsible for the planning and execution of the month-end and quarter-end process, including managing the inventory costing and review of the SEC financial statements.
This position will report to the Corporate Controller and supervise a staff of senior accountants. Ideal candidate will have a mix of public & private work history with at least 7 years of progressive professional accounting/finance experience.
They are looking for someone to own the accounting, reporting, and compliance activities for the organization?s global business. The primary responsibilities include consolidation of financial statements, Assist with the production of various financial reports for multiple entities and ensure cost centers are reviewed. Additional responsibilities are assisting the team members with preparation and tie-out of SEC financial statements, driving the external audit, assisting with the reporting to senior management of financial results, contributing to the annual budget process and staff management.
Some ad-hoc responsibilities include researching accounting issues pertinent to the Company and draft/update related new accounting pronouncement memos? such as; revenue recognition, transfer pricing, inventory valuation etc.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting; CPA Required
Public Accounting experience or Private industry experience with public company, 7+ years
Knowledge in GAAP and SEC reporting with strong understanding of manufacturing
Strong problems solving and analytical skills, ability to handle multiple projects as well as must be a great team player and can show demonstration of strong ability to work independently.
