Cheif FInancial Officer Job Opening in Richmond, Virginia - Chief Financial Officer
Chief Financial Officer position is offered with a dynamic real estate investment and development concern located in Chesterfield County, VA. The CFO will be an integral member of the Company management team functioning as a key decision maker on its portfolio of large and interesting real estate land developments. The CFO will accomplish the following:
Principal Accountabilities:
Planning
With the Ownership, create and implement strategic business plans
Develop financial and tax strategies for multiple partnerships
Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team
Implement operational best practices
Participate in acquisition due diligence and acquisition negotiation
Management
Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
Manage outsourced accounting and audit functions
control systems, operations, and policies and procedures.
Manage the budgeting processes
Manage the accounting, investor relations, tax, and treasury functions
Transactions
Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner
Ensure that accounts receivable are collected promptly
Process payroll in a timely manner
Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed
Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis
Maintain the chart of accounts
Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
Reporting
Issue timely and complete financial statements
Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics
Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts
Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
Provide for a system of management cost reports
Compliance
Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit
Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
Desired Qualifications: The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience and 5-7+ years of progressively responsible experience for a real estate, banking or accounting firm. Strong preference will be given to candidates with the Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designations.
Verifiable references required. Total Compensation Range : $80,000 - $95,000 based upon experience.
Working Conditions/ Benefits: Primarily in an office environment with a small corporate team.
20 days/yr in Flex Time plus customary holidays; health and dental benefits available.
