Job description
Position is responsible for preparation of revenue related journal entries, reconciliation of deferred revenue accounts to the general ledger and monthly deferred revenue and revenue account analytics.
Job Duties (including, but not limited to):
Preparation and completion of journal entries to recognize maintenance
revenue over the maintenance contract period requiring review of maintenance
invoices and/or contracts to ensure appropriate revenue recognition
Preparation and completion of journal entries to recognize consulting
revenue related to prepaid consulting arrangements; work with the consulting
billing team to ensure proper revenue recognition as services are performed
Preparation and completion of journal entries to recognize education revenue
related to prepaid education arrangements; work with the Education Coordinators
to ensure proper revenue recognition as education services are performed
Update and maintain deferred revenue detail schedules maintained in excel
and the Revenue Management System for deferred product, deferred maintenance,
deferred consulting and deferred education revenue
Perform monthly reconciliation of the deferred revenue detail schedules and
the Revenue Management System to the General Ledger
Perform monthly rollforwards and fluctuation analyses of deferred revenue
and revenue balances
Work with the Revenue Management System Development Team to develop, test
and implement system enhancements
Preparation and completion of other projects and tasks that may be required
from time-to-time Qualifications
Job Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Accounting
Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in accounting
Detail-oriented and strong documentation skills
Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently
Strong analytical skills
Strong communication skills
Appropriate handling of confidential information
Strong Computer skills: proficiency in MS Excel, Accounting Software
packages such as JD Edwards.
