Inventory Control Manager Job Opening in Dulles, Virginia - TAG Inventory Control Manager
Position Summary
The Inventory Control Manager is responsible for managing TAG?s physical inventory, warehouse spaces and shipping/receiving processes. This is a critical role that supports not only the Production team, but all aspects of TAG?s business. The Inventory Control Manager will be responsible for a team of 2 ? 5 Materials Associates and will report to the Supply Chain Manager. Responsibilities
The following Inventory Control Manager duties are illustrative and not inclusive. Individual assignments may vary as needed by the Supply Chain Manager, Production Team, Quality Department and/or Executive Management. Inventory Control Manager Responsibilities:
Ensure adequate inventory of materials and supplies in accordance with inventory cycles, production schedule needs and TAG?s organizational philosophy
Develop, implement and maintain inventory control procedures in conjunction with the Supply Chain Manager both to meet TAG?s ISO 9001 standards but also to meet government and programmatic requirements as needed
Manage all stock and non-stock receiving processes from vendor and customer deliveries, ensuring accuracy in the physical contents, quality and condition of the materials as well as the electronic tracking of the materials against purchase orders in TAG?s ERP system.
Implement incoming and outgoing material inspections in conjunction with the TAG Quality Department to augment the receiving and shipping processes respectively and ensure that quality standards are being met in TAG?s stockroom and in shipping finished goods to customers
Maintain the Non-conforming Materials Report process at the direction of the TAG Quality Department including upkeep of logs and disposition of NMR materials
Track and coordinate all Customer Furnished and Government Furnished Equipment (GFE/CFE), both stock and non-stock in order to pass annual internal and external audits of CFE/GFE
Assist the FSO and AFSO in the tracking of controlled inventory items as required to meet DoD standards and government contract requirements
Assist the Accounting Department with the tracking of fixed assets and equipment at TAG
Ultimate responsibility for the accuracy of the TAG inventory including management of periodic cycle counts, resolving receiving issues in quantity or quality with TAG vendors and in researching inventory discrepancies at the direction of the Accounting Department.
Ultimate responsibility for the organization of TAG inventory including abiding by industry safety standards, physically keeping inventory in a logical order and general tidiness of the materials spaces
Coordinate the smooth flow of materials from the TAG stockroom to the Production floor ensuring that Production?s demand is being met in a timely fashion and that the Materials Associates are accounting for all materials movements properly, both physically and electronically
Maintain the stock of packing materials and supplies being sure to alert the Supply Chain Manager and Purchasing to replenishment needs in a timely fashion
Coordinate with Project Managers to ensure timely delivery of outbound shipments in accordance with customer deadlines and packing requirements as well as with TAG?s quality guidelines
Assist in the management of TAG?s facility maintenance routines and daily inspections
All other related duties as assigned
Required Skills and Qualifications
Must be highly organized and detail oriented; meticulous handling of all TAG inventory at all times, including high value and ESD sensitive materials
Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment, understanding the priorities of the role, importance of deadlines and be able to uphold the highest level of professionalism under pressure
Be able to use independent judgement, analyze critical situations and make recommendations in order to solve workplace challenges
Maintain a cooperative and supportive environment, highly responsive to peers and others both within TAG and outwardly to customers and vendors
Capable of managing tasking to and organizing the time of Materials Associates to ensure maximum department efficiency
Ability to train Materials Associates on their role including following and executing documented inventory control and quality assurance policies
Understanding of ESD requirements and ability to train staff on ESD policy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel and related computer applications
Bachelor?s Degree and a minimum of two years? experience in an inventory/materials management role, preferably in a technology or manufacturing environment including handling shipping, receiving and staging of materials for Production OR
High School Diploma and a minimum of five years? experience as listed above
Must be able to lift 50+ lbs
Must have reliable transportation and a punctual nature
Must have a clean criminal history and pass a drug screening
Additional Skills
Knowledge and familiarity with AutoCad/Inventor, Solidworks and SAP ByDesign is a plus
Experience performing technical, specialized and or complex technical troubleshooting requiring the use of independent judgment
Familiar with technical components and raw materials
Familiar with technical production processes
Familiar with government contracting as it pertains to material handling, shipping and receiving
Secret level government security clearance a plus
