About the Podiatrist Role
Upperline Health is seeking a podiatrist to provide foot care and podiatric services in a clinic based in Chattanooga. This will include a range of clinical tasks such as performing a physical examination, assessing the condition of patients? feet, diagnosing problems, prescribing medications and special shoe inserts and utilizing x-rays and laboratory tests. The candidate must demonstrate compassion for patient needs, have great attention to detail and thrive in a collaborative environment. As Upperline expands, this individual will be able to explore a wide range of career opportunities within the company.
What You?ll Be Doing
Our DPMs will provide Upperline services in a clinic setting with the possibility for home-visits or facility based work in the future if so desired
You will assess the condition of a patient?s feet and review his/her medical history, listen to the patient?s concerns, perform a physical examination, order x-rays or medical labs and then develop and implement a clinical plan of care
Types of care for podiatric patients include foot exams, diabetic foot care, sports/athletic care, heel and arch pain, ingrown toenail, wound care, and routine foot care among others
If you are qualified, you will perform foot surgeries within the scope of practice
You will give advice and instructions on foot care and you will also educate patients and families about general wellness care, medication usage, side effects, medical adherence and prevention
Each day, you will maintain patient medical records and medical documentation consistent with state regulations and Upperline Health standards and policy
You will participate in continuing education as required by the state Board of Podiatry
You will prescribe medication as permitted by the state Board of Podiatry
Other related duties as deemed necessary
Experience Requirements
Degree of Doctor of Podiatric Medicine with appropriate certification and licensure is required
Our DPMs must have strong compassion for our patients and their families
Background in dealing with diabetic patients is preferred
Possession of DEA registration or eligibility required
CPR certification preferred
Excellent oral and written communication skills to ensure that each of your interactions with patients, family caregivers, clinicians, and team members is effective and meaningful.
Compensation
Compensation is commensurate to compensation for similar positions in the region and based on prior training and experience.
