Specific Duties:
Support development of software prototypes and technical documentation (e.g., specifications) related to distributed learning web-based applications;
Evaluate R&D prototypes, technical documents, and proposals;
Provide expert knowledge and experience in distributed learning technologies.

Minimum Qualifications:
Formal Education required: Bachelor?s degree or equivalent experience
U.S. citizenship is required
Specific knowledge and/or skills:
Ability to develop e-learning software prototypes, technical docs, specifications
Ability to collaboratively develop and maintain software (e.g., via GitHub)
Ability to design and develop e-learning content
Ability to help to evaluate e-learning R&D prototypes, technical documents, proposals
Ability to help monitor and oversee communities of practice (e.g., xAPI communities)
Ability to use scripting and programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python, Java, C#)
Ability to use web apps and server stacks (e.g., MOAN, LAMP, Django, REST, SOAP)
Ability to use client-side web apps (e.g., Meteor, React, Angular, Knockout)
Ability to develop web front-ends (e.g., HTML, HTML5, JS, CSS, SASS)
Ability to develop web applications (e.g., HTTP, SQL, cloud servers, operating systems)
Ability to use standard web security (e.g., SSL certificates, OAuth)
Ability to use web-based data storage (MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, NoSQL)
Knowledge of different APIs and libraries (e.g., mocha, chai, promise, moment, joi)
Familiarity with distributed learning specifications (e.g., SCORM, xAPI, Dublin Core)
Independent Judgment and Decision Making: May lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
Physical Demands: Typically the work may be performed sitting down. No special physical demands are required. There may be some walking, standing, bending and carrying of light items
such as paper, books, small equipment and supplies.
Working Conditions: Typical office or laboratory environment. No significant exposure to risks or discomforts.
