Who You Are ? Job Requirements
Required experience and skills:
5+ years? experience developing software in Python
Minimum Bachelor?s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, EE, IS, or equivalent degree + work experience
Relevant experience in other languages and frameworks is a plus
SQL Ninja
Deep experience with Object Oriented Programming, Functional Programming, Data Structures and Algorithms, Systems Optimization, and a solid grasp of coding best practices
Experience with the Django web framework or other server-side web framework
Experience with distributed task queue based architecture
Deep understanding of REST, HTTP and other client-server & API technologies
DevOps experience a plus, including Docker, CI, CD, system & database profiling and optimization, etc.
Experience writing unit tests
While front-end web development is unlikely to be a primary focus for this role, experience with AngularJS (1 and/or 2) is definitely a plus
Deep expertise with development tools that accelerate and facilitate effective development
What You Will Do
While most of our developers focus on full-stack web development, your role will be a bit more specialized -- we?re hiring someone to be our data and integrations expert. We need someone who is fast and effective at developing high quality backend software in Python, who can help us integrate with other systems that our software needs to communicate with. You?ll be given the opportunity to independently tackle significant projects that deal with large amounts of data and/or integrate with other systems that provide API?s.
You will be part of a small but highly productive development team of 8-10 software developers, working as part of a smaller agile sub-team. We use a flexible version of the Scrum methodology, tailored to empower the team.
You?ll be expected to build and evolve consolidated, flexible interfaces and frameworks within our software that can allow for ?plug-ins? to be developed which adapt to different API endpoints that accomplish the same purposes. You?ll be developing integration with Point-of-sale systems, food and inventory management systems, analytics providers, etc.
While we are highly collaborative and regularly work together to accomplish team goals, we encourage each team member to ?own? a particular feature set within the product. You will be responsible for maintaining and evolving these projects, which we expect you to become very familiar with.
