JOB CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt
DEPARTMENT/PROGRAM: Finance
REPORTS TO: Assistant Controller
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: None
INTERNAL/EXTERNAL CONTACTS: Parish and School
PRIMARY PURPOSE: Perform functions associated with regular bookkeeping tasks, such as collecting and organizing timekeeping information for the processing of payroll; review and input of vendor invoices; review of daily deposits and management of accounts routine accounting duties.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: REQUIRED:
? High School Diploma or equivalent.
? Solid math, organizational and data entry skills.
? Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
? Demonstrated high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
? Understanding of basic accounting principles.
? Adherence to a strict standard of confidentiality.
DESIRED:
? Bachelor?s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
? Experience with IOI payroll system.
? Two years previous experience as payroll or accounting clerk.
? Bi-lingual.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Basic computer equipment, keyboard, mouse, telephone, copier,facsimile, ten key calculators, check encoder and printer, and papershredder.
Essential Physical Tasks:
Communicate, move, remain stationary, reach, and occasionallycarry materials as needed weighing up to 30 lbs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Collect and summarize timekeeping information; review and verify sourcedocuments.
2. Obtain supervisory approval of time card discrepancies.
3. Calculate and post payroll deductions.
4. Reconcile employee deductions.
5. Investigate and correct payroll discrepancies and errors.
6. Verify total payroll hours and withholdings for taxes and benefits in the payroll system before generating paychecks or automatic payroll deposits.
7. Process payroll by established deadlines.
8. Process direct deposit payments.
9. Update payroll records by recording changes including insurance coverage, loan payments, salary increases, etc?
10. Process new employees, terminations, transfers and promotions.
11. Input invoices into accounting software; verifying accuracy in the general ledgercoding and ensuring proper approvals have been received
12. Assist A/R clerk in preparing deposit slips and reviewing deposit information is accurately reflected in the general ledger.
