Business Analyst II Job Opening in Atlanta, Georgia - THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN OAKWOOD, GA (40 miles northeast of Atlanta). PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Primarily responsible for planning, designing, developing and launching efficient business, financial and operations systems in support of core organizational functions and business processes. Also responsible for generating and compiling reports based on findings, complete with probably causes and possible solutions to systems issues while applying proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help maximize the benefit of I.T. system investments.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
Strategy & Planning
Meet with decision makers, systems owners and end users to define business, financial and operations requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve systems issues.
Lead design sessions in prototyping new systems for purpose of enhancing business processes, operations, and information process flow.
Review and analyze effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
Identify and establish scope and parameters of systems analysis in order to define outcome criteria and measure-taking actions.
Acquisition & Deployment
Lead planning, design, development and deployment of new applications and enhancements to existing applications.
Conduct research on software and hardware product justifying recommendations and supporting purchasing efforts.
Operational Management
Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas in operating systems.
Create and approve system design proposals.
Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems.
Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house and cloud based systems.
Create systems models, specifications, diagrams and charts providing direction to system programmers.
Coordinate and perform in-depth tests for modified and new systems, and other post-implementation support.
Provide orientation and training to end users for all modified and new systems.
Provide subject matter expertise within functional/process area in overall support of project goals.
Lead evaluation of effectiveness of current/future logistical processes, and make recommendations regarding cost reduction, process improvement opportunities, and implement solutions.
Lead development and documentation of "As Is" and "To Be" processes formalizing blueprint for solution and approvals.
Responsible for development and documentation of business practices for functional area as assigned.
Develop business test cases and test scripts in conjunction with end users facilitating acceptance testing, sequencing and approves.
Develop project plans within assigned functional area; deliver and monitor progress, identify issues, resolve issues, and communicate status to project leads and other team members as appropriate.
Responsible for gathering requirements and gap analysis, and providing quality documentation of detailed user/business requirements facilitating proto-typing, configuration and development of functional reports.
Complete understanding and adherence of software development cycle and established departmental standards.
Lead JAD (Joint Application Development) sessions comprising of cross-functional teams.
Work as a collaborative team member to influence positive actions and foster accountability of other team members.
Act in conjunction with project leads, serving as a consultant and building relationships.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
None. This is an individual contributor position. Competencies required: Skills, Action Oriented, Problem Solving, Learning on the Fly and Interpersonal Savvy.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Level I
Bachelor?s Degree in the field of Computer Science, Information Systems or related field from an accredited institution OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 2 years related work experience.
Level II
Bachelor?s Degree in the field of Computer Science, Information Systems or related field from an accredited institution OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 5 years related work experience.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Level I & II
Supply chain experience within food or poultry manufacturing industry with B2B business solutions.
Microsoft Project experience and knowledge.
Knowledge of SQL.
Certifications: PCP, APIC?S, CPM
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Proven experience in overseeing design, development and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems and products.
Practical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols and standards, including Citrix.
Extensive practical knowledge in importing data for use in reporting software.
Extensive experience with core software applications (i.e. ERP Systems, MRP, supply chain planning tools, Warehouse Management systems, EDI Biztalk, etc.).
Proven experience in operation and analysis of database hardware, software and standards, data retrieval methodologies, and mainframe applications.
Excellent project management skills with familiarity of project management tools.
