Software Developer Job Opening in Gainesville, Florida - Altavian, Inc. is accepting applications for the position of Software Engineer for immediate hire. The Software Engineer will have a major impact on design and development aspects related to Altavian?s own family of commercial-grade small UAS (Drone) products. Altavian software engineers work in both Ground Control Station software and embedded firmware on the aircraft. Consequently, he/she must be a highly self-motivated and detail oriented individual who is comfortable solving big problems with outside-the-box ideas.
Minimum :
2 years working with mission critical software or firmware
Experience with either C# or C++
Bachelor of Science in a related field
Responsibilities include:
Development of new features with the Altavian proprietary ground control software, FlareTM (/product/flare/)
QA/QC of flight critical functions and perform code reviews
Development of mixed software and firmware functions in the Altavian line of Fusion payloads (/product/fusion/)
Higher level autonomy with an onboard x86 computing environment
Sensor fusion and firmware development of embedded devices
Preferred Experience:
Exposure to the MAVLINK protocol
