Site Operations Engineer (NOC) - ZILLOW Job Opening in seattle, Washington - Site Operations Engineer (NOC) - ZILLOW Zillow is seeking an experienced Tier 1 NOC Engineer to help run our Site and Services. We seek an individual with great technical skills, an aptitude to absorb complex site and service infrastructure, and the ability to work with best practices for Incident and Change Management processes. The preferred candidate will be highly organized and have strong communication and technical skills to support the full role. Essential Duties: � Frontline Tier 1 role for the site and supporting services � Monitor Zillow Site services, hosts, network, batch jobs, and facilities in a 24/7 data center, including coverage of third shift � Be central point of contact for all IT infrastructure communication and support coordination � Run Incident Management Processes o Analyze and troubleshoot incidences across Zillow Site and Services via both automated and manual methods o Formal tracking of issues o Communication to stakeholders o Escalation to support personnel both during and after business hours and coordinate communications. � Run Change Management Procedures o Formal tracking and communication o Run deployment and validation steps � Formally track and work tasks from a ticket queue � Provide regular status in daily reports � Maintain Operational Documentation for current and new systems: o Runbooks o Troubleshooting Guides o Site Cartography � Map new technical requirements and new services to current procedures and Operational requirements. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: � Familiarity working with a monitoring and alerting system (Sitescope, Nagios, Zabbix, Cacti) � Familiarity working with formal ticket tracking system � Ability to follow established policies and procedures � Strong communication skills and the ability to describe technical and non-technical issues � Self starter with solid analytical and problem solving skills. � Able to work at times in interrupt mode � Work in a fast paced, business critical areas � Work, at a technical level, with a complex system � Ability to debug a multi-tier system (client, server, database) � Ability to work with commandline tools in Linux and UI tools to complete work : � 4 year degree preferred or equivalent experience. � 1 - 2 years experience with Unix/Linux systems � 2 or more years working at a large scale NOC as a Tier 1 Engineer 69081-CJB-0@ PLEASE APPLY ONLINE: http:?req=69081& seattle wa washington
