Westborough Behavioral Healthcare Hospital is a beautiful new 152- bed state-of-the art psychiatric facility located in scenic Central Massachusetts. We are seeking experienced and motivated mental health professionals interested in joining a compassionate and dynamic multidisciplinary behavioral healthcare team dedicated to enhancing the quality of care for patients and their loved ones. Westborough Behavioral will provide behavioral health services for children, adolescents, adults and seniors in addition to Women?s, LGBT, and co-occurring substance use specialty units.
Job Description:
The Mental Health Technician, under the supervision of the Nurse Manager (for MHT on the units) and Director of AR (for Admissions and Referral Department), is responsible for maintaining a safe therapeutic milieu grounded in Westborough Behavioral Healthcare Hospital?s mission and core therapeutic principles. As a member of our multi-disciplinary treatment team, the Mental Health Technician contributes to each patient?s individual treatment plan by helping develop, implement, and document appropriate goals and interventions, informed by patient strengths and presenting psychiatric problems.
Conducts patient observation and rounds according to defined policy and procedure
Assists staff in provision of patient care in accordance with the individual treatment plan.
Observes and monitors patient?s progress and reports observations to appropriate staff.
Ability to develop a therapeutic relationship while maintaining professional boundaries.
Ability to implement appropriate treatment interventions based on developmental needs and/or delays.
Assists patients with activities of daily living skills as necessary.
Provide appropriate supervision of patients? activities.

Requirements:
Bachelor?s Degree in a Health, Human Services, or other related field as approved by hiring manager; Master?s preferred.
Requires verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work in collaboration with others.
One year?s patient care or related experience in a psychiatric setting preferred.
Employees are expected to remain awake and alert at all times on all shifts.
Ability to manage stressful situations in a calm, organized, and professional manner.
All employees must possess basic computer skills to use a variety of electronic or online systems for communication, clinical and administrative purposes.
