Credit Manager Job Opening in Cottage Grove, Wisconsin - The Credit Manager directs, promotes and coordinates the credit operations for Landmark Services Cooperative and Landmark Logistics in a manner which minimizes bad debt write-offs and maximizes company sales. This position also builds positive customer relationships and provides a general understanding of Landmark credit polices to customers as well as employees.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
Review and approve/decline credit requests from customers of the cooperative through educated decision making which factors in credit limits, acceptable levels of risk, and terms of payment. Send approved applications to New Accounts Credit Administrator to assign account number. Credit staff enters information in the system and mails correspondence. Credit staff oversees the accuracy of the Customer Master File.
Review and adjust on a regular basis existing customer account credit limits as changing circumstances dictate.
Provide positive customer communications while resolving customer billing and credit questions.
Educate Landmark Services Cooperative employees and customers on Landmark?s credit policy. Enforce compliance with the policy through communications with customers, affected employees and department managers.
On a monthly basis, review the customer master past due list for all customers in assigned territory. Initiate and effectively manage the collection activity such as collections letters and customer calls. Maintain a record of collection activity in each customer's account. Represent Landmark in small claims court actions. Initiate and direct third-party collection actions with attorneys or collection agencies. Initiate credit related propane tank lease terminations on past due propane accounts. Review delinquent accounts for collectability and determine accounts to written off.
Direct credit administrative staff in the collection of routine NSF checks and EFT payments; contact customers for payments and assets fees to customer accounts. Personally manage the collection of large NSF payments . Refer uncollected payments to the appropriate legal authority. Educate employees on NSF policy and resolve NSF policy problems.
Approve HVAC installment loans of more than $2,500. Review payment activity, send late notices, cancel if necessary and initiate collection actions.
Review Even-Pay (budget) accounts for payment, send out late payment notices, review late payment list, inform appropriate staff and cancel Even Pay contracts when warranted.
Refer Verity Business Solution loan inquiries to the appropriate Business Manager. Work in support to assist in the collection of defaulted Verity loans.
Direct the collection and write-off all recourse notes.
Education & Experience Requirements:
Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting/Finance
Minimum 5-7 years experience in a credit management capacity
Minimum 2-4 years people management experience
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; advanced Excel Skills.
Experience with AS400 or ERP system.
Demonstrated process improvement competency.
Proficient in analyzing complex data and reports.
Proven time management skills; able to manage multiple priorities.
Must be a Team Player; able to build solid relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Exceptional communication skills.
Solid business acumen and understanding of financial statements.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Proven negotiation skills ? proficient with obtaining customer payment.
Exceptional interpersonal skills/ability to work with a team.
