Eastern US Sales Director Job Opening in Boston, Massachusetts - The Eastern US Sales Director oversees the sales efforts in the Eastern half of the US and large bioproduction accounts. As a sales leader in an exciting and well funded company, this person will help improve sales processes, hire team as needed and grow our business in the cell culture and bioproduction consumables market. This individual is responsible for all aspects of the sales function and will have to be nimble enough to modify and improve a sales strategy, make customer calls and at the same time leverage active networking and as tools. We are looking for a proven performer who is an aggressive and intelligent manager and has experience in the cell culture space and ideally comes with several years calling on bioproduction. This position will work closely with the VP of sales and participate in company management meetings.
EDUCATION:
Undergraduate degree in Biology or science required. Advanced degree preferred.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
Requires 10 years? experience in the Biotech or Cell Biology industry.
Requires 5 years? experience in Cell Culture Lab Sales, Bioproduction and/or Marketing
Prior experience managing people a plus
Prior early stage company experience a plus
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Proven sales ability
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and to establish and maintain productive working relationships with persons contacted in the course of performing assigned duties including subordinates, Company management and outside business associates
Ability to work independently without a large support organization
Strong attention to detail
Ability to exercise independent judgment consistent with Company guidelines
Strong process mindset
PROBLEM SOLVING AND DECISION MAKING:
Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems; ensures solutions are consistent with organization objectives
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to hear and speak to employees and outside business associates on the phone and in person.
Ability to see the letters and numbers on a personal computer screen and on memos, reports and other documents (near vision)
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
May direct exempt and nonexempt employees; make hire, termination, promotion and merit decisions.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Travel to and from Nucleus Biologics offices or customer/vendor locations both domestically and internationally
