Senior Accountant Job Opening in San Antonio, Texas - GENERAL SUMMARY
At Carbonfree Chemicals, our patented carbon capture conversion technology removes the CO2 from industrial waste streams and produces profitable by-products saleable to many different industries, such as sodium bi-carbonate (baking soda), hydrochloric acid (HCl) and bleach. This is currently being put into practice in the very first plant of its kind located in San Antonio, TX. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As part of the accounting/finance team in this newly created position, you will be responsible for the monthly, quarterly, & annual closing processes, preparation of financial statements, and assisting the financial auditors and tax accountants.
Other duties would include:
Summarize current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement and other reports for the board of directors, lenders, and investors.
Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
Prepare special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
Monitors federal, state, and local government reporting requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements and advising management on needed actions.
REQUIREMENTS
A Bachelor?s degree in Accounting or equivalent along with a minimum 2 years of experience in industry. This should include performing the monthly/quarterly closings, account reconciliations, organizing and maintaining financial records, the preparation of financial statements and involvement with the financial auditing. A solid knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), strong analytical & accounting skills, and proficient computer skills (Excel) are also required. The ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment and excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills are a must. Quickbooks experience is a plus as well as previous experience in a public accounting firm.
