Sr. Accountant Job Opening in Austin, Texas - The Senior Accountant is a key member of the corporate accounting team, cross-training on a variety of tasks integral to the general ledger close and reporting cycle. Areas of responsibility may include property plant and equipment and intangible asset accounting, corporate insurance, cash accounting support, operational accounting (including revenue recognition and inventory valuation), technical accounting research and application in accordance with US GAAP or IFRS, special projects, and other duties as assigned. The successful Senior Accountant is proactive and collaborative, with a positive, inquisitive mindset. This role will frequently use independent judgment to identify problems and propose solutions within organizational policies. The incumbent will be accountable for the quality and timeliness of their own work, as performed under the general supervision of an Accounting Manager or above who reviews deliverables for accuracy and timeliness.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
GL close, technical accounting, special projects, and other duties as assigned
Accounting process documentation and improvement
Consistent adherence to internal controls
Critical and Essential Tasks:
Execution of month-end close responsibilities as assigned.
Conformance to the organization's accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls, including management reporting, external reporting, internal and external audit, and SOX compliance.
Coordination and support of audit requests as related to areas of responsibility.
Oversight, development, and performance review of staff or interns as applicable.
Compliance with U.S. GAAP and other regulations governing a multi-national, publicly-traded company.

2-4 years of related experience, with preference to Big 4 firm exposure
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in accounting under US GAAP (IFRS preferred)
Demonstrated versatility in a team environment
Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to quality as evidenced by detail and accuracy of work product
Demonstrated time management and organizational skills
Demonstrated software knowledge including various ERPs and reporting solutions, Microsoft Office, and a high degree of proficiency in EXCEL
Education and Certification Requirements:
Bachelor?s degree or equivalent from a four year college or university
CPA Preferred
