The Role
Our Senior Software Engineers (think Sr SDE and above) build out our line of Machine Learning-based products. We?re looking for creative and self-motivated mission-driven engineers of software who thrive in mid-stage, collaborative startup environments.
What You?ll Do
Complex application engineering: To build our ML applications, we need to deeply understand the different domains we are working in, so that we can deliver a product and a user experience that meets the underlying needs. As engineers and architects, though, we have to be great at condensing this complexity down into powerful, straightforward products.
Ship commercial solutions: Our customers are large companies who rely on our products to run their business. So, we need to build tremendous, powerful software that just works. That's hard!
Machine Learning, in real life: ML is at the core of what we do, and we are operationalizing it so our customers can unlock its power. Doing so requires a versatile, yet opinionated products - which requires versatile, but opinionated engineers.
What You've Done
Deep industry experience: 5+ years of software industry experience, showing a steady upward career progression in the art of Software Engineering.
Large scale delivery : It's hard building software, but even harder to maintain it, evolve it, and keep it awesome. You've done this for large-scale enterprise software.
High velocity engineering: You are used to and thrive in a high operational tempo. You've put out crazy fires and hit hard deadlines.
Distributed compute & big data: You've worked with distributed compute engines (Hadoop, Spark), and have been challenged by the performance challenges of large scale data.
Breadth of tools: Advanced software engineering skills, including the ability to write expert-level, maintainable, and robust code in a popular object oriented language like Scala, C++, Python, Java, etc.
Fostering the team: You love helping and mentoring others and showing leadership as an extraordinary hands-on developer and architect.
CS fundamentals: You have earned at least a Bachelor?s or Master?s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
