Job Summary:
A Systems Engineer, also known as lead systems analyst, a network engineer who can also program, or a software engineer who can also manage networks, is an IT professional who oversees the creation of hybrid software, web and hardware products from initial specifications to final rollout and maintenance with the ability to interface with Fleet, Government, and Contractor personnel. Duties for this position include serving as a member of Common Infrastructure Services (CIS) subsystem team reporting to the Chief Engineer for CIS with the primary role as the CIS Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Lead and member of the CIS engineering responsibilities include the coordination of needs and impacts related to the Common Infrastructure Services (CIS) subsystem of the Submarine Warfare Federated Tactical Systems (SWFTS) with respect to IETM, MIP/MRCs, TRID-related information, training content, employment manuals, test procedures, etc. Participation in applicable ILS, training, Integration and Test Working Group (ITWG), and other Splinter and Working Groups (SG/WG) on behalf of addition to ILS duties engineering responsibilities will include project level risk assessment, new Capability Item (CI) development, integration & test event participation, problem report assessment, and development of innovative solutions as an integral part of the CIS engineering knowledge includes familiarity with ILS products and activities such as Planned Maintenance System (PMS), Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), and Military Essentially Code (MEC) spares modeling. Applicant should also have an understanding of Navy Tactical Systems Training shipboard with Onboard Team Trainer (OBTT) tools and during formal classroom rate training pipeline schools. Technical knowledge of Inter Subsystem Monitoring Tool (ISMT), Command, Control, Communications, and Intelligence (C3I) Maintenance Tool (C3IMT), and SWFTS subsystems and networking is also required. Applicant should have understanding of the Technical Insertion (TI) Advanced Processor Build (APB) SWFTS update cycle with knowledge of the Baseline Change Request (BCR) process. Cybersecurity with SWFTS posture transitions and IAT/IAM Certifications a plus.
Education and Experience: Bachelor?s Degree in an Engineering discipline (Advanced military technical training (e.g. Navy "C" School) and 7 years? experience in military systems (e.g., service abroad a naval ship) can be substituted for a Bachelor's degree) and 3 years of professional experience in systems engineering. The ideal candidate would have >10 year's submarine FT/ST/ET experience with shipboard or Intermediate Maintenance Activity (IMA) work center supervisor experience.U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a security clearance required; current clearance a plus.
