Controller Job Opening in Schaumburg, Illinois - Manage all financial aspects of multiple-entity office. Entities include medical practices and real estate ventures. Will work directly with Director and additional staff. We currently support our accounting with QuickBooks online. We currently use an outside consulting firm that handles the accounting for a few of the smaller businesses, that this position will take full responsibility for. Also, this position includes significant interaction with Owners, Investors, Bankers, and other professionals regarding the real estate activity.
Financial duties include, but are not limited to the following activities:
Monitor and advise on daily bookkeeping matters
Assist, manage and develop existing accounting staff ? must be willing to ?dig-in? when necessary
Develop reporting package for the owner to include financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning
Close multiple company books with reconciliations of balance sheet accounts by entity on a monthly basis
Maintain proper documentation to support the financial statements and financial transactions of the enterprise
Examine business processes and implement best practices in the areas of cash controls, patient receipts and billings, vendor qualification, payroll processing, inventory and supply purchasing, credit card usage, intercompany activity, banking transfers, travel and expense reporting documentation and overall expense report and vendor bill payment approval process
Regular monitoring of real estate activity ? multiple rental properties along with other real estate ventures requiring involvement from time-to-time with owner, investors, bankers and professional personnel
Liaison with outside attorneys, banks, payroll service, insurance agents and accountants
Ideal candidate is a CPA with a public/private mix with some level of knowledge of medical practice accounting challenges. A combination of 3 years public and 1 or 2 years private would be ideal. Experience in working in a closely held corporation is preferred.
