The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for an Accountant Technician 1 for the Associated Students of the University of Nevada, Center for Student Engagement. The incumbent will provide technical accounting support to over 200 student club accounts and associated departmental accounts. The position is responsible for ensuring expenditures are within policy, reconciling all accounts, and processing documentation to the Controller?s Office. The position will create reports monitoring account activity and providing forecasts for the club leaders. The incumbent will manage the daily operations of the accounting office. Additionally, the incumbent will act as a mentor to annually changing student club leaders regarding financial expectations of the ASUN. The position requires an incumbent who is both detail and service oriented.
The typical work schedule is based on 40 hours per week with a flexible schedule to cover business hours (M-F 8a-8p, reduced Saturday hours); this is subject to change based on organizational needs.
This position does not provide layoff rights and is contingent upon funding.

Graduation from high school supplemented by 6 college credits in beginning accounting and two years of financial records maintenance experience which includes such duties as controlling accounts payable/receivable; preparing financial reports for internal management use; and reconciling complex accounts; OR two years of experience as an Accounting Assistant III in Nevada State service which includes 6 college credits in beginning accounting; OR one year as an Accounting Assistant IV in Nevada State service which includes 6 college credits in beginning accounting; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above which must have included 6 college credits in beginning accounting.
Additional Experience Requirements:
1. This position requires advanced experience using Microsoft Excel in a business setting.
2. This position requires experience working in an accounts payable department/office that handles multiple complex accounts.
