IT Specialist Job Opening in Menominee, Michigan - JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective The IT specialist position installs, modifies and assists with database conversion, and provides technical advice and support to system users. Analyzing and customizing existing and new software to meet users? needs.

Work directly with the IT Manager in the following capacity:
Coordinate activities with network services and information systems groups.
Assist with database modification and conversion
Assist with software development
Install hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers and disk drives on users? premises.
Load appropriate software packages such as operating systems, networking components and office applications.
Assist with analysis and development of new programs to meet users? requirements.
Assist with testing and implementation of new software products and processes.
Assist in the customization and adaptation of existing programs to meet users? requirements.
Provide telephone, in-person and online support to end-users.
Provide updates, status and completion information to manager and/or users, via voice mail, e-mail or in-person communication.
Refer major hardware problems to service personnel for correction.
Connect users to networks. and provides initial training in facilities and applications..
Administer e-mail and anti-virus systems.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires standing, walking, bending, and kneeling?, all day. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday working a shift between the hours of 6:00am-6:00pm depending on business needs. IT support on-call every other weekend. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel No travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience
Associate Information Technology
2 years of relevant experience.
Proficient in SQL, Microsoft Access and Excel
Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelor?s degree in technical field.
Proficient in MS Excel
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Ability to analyze and process complex information; proven problem solving skills
Ability to communicate effectively with customers and inter-departmental groups.
