Bookkeeper / Payroll Specialist Job Opening in Peoria, Illinois - Small CPA firm has an immediate opening for a seasoned Bookkeeper/ Payroll Specialist.
Ideal candidate will have 3 ? 5 years? experience performing bookkeeping functions such as data entry, figuring and entering payroll, entering and paying vendor bills, entering client payments and making deposits, printing checks and reconciling bank and credit card statements.
Candidate should also have experience in preparing quarterly and annual payroll returns and sales tax returns.
Minimum of 3 years QuickBooks experience required. Knowledge of other accounting packages a plus. Candidate must also know how to use Microsoft Excel and Word.
Candidate must be organized, detail orientated and a team player.
Candidate will interact with clients, so they must strong written and verbal communication skills. Candidate must articulate well and be a good listener.
Duties include performing bookkeeping functions for multiple clients such as data entry, entering payroll, receiving payments and making deposits, entering vendor bills and payments, printing checks and reconciling bank and credit card statements. Individual will also be responsible for preparing quarterly and annual payroll returns as well as monthly, quarterly and annual sales tax returns. Projects as requested.
Other duties include light filing, answering phones and scanning documents.
Candidate must be comfortable working in a small office. Candidate needs to be self-motivated, organized, detail orientated and capable of working with minimal supervision.
Firm offers Simple IRA but no health insurance benefits.
Full time position.
Annual salary of $28,000 to $30,000 depending on experience
