OUTSIDE SALES REPRESENTATIVE
Lezzer Lumber, Inc. is presently seeking an Outside Sales Representative based in the Stockertown, PA. store. Qualified applicants must have a minimum of two years of Lumber and building material sales experience along with a proven track record of customer service and retention. Knowledge and experience selling roof trusses, wall panels and engineered floor systems is also a plus, along with the ability to find and develop new accounts.
SUMMARY Directly responsible for developing new accounts in specified territory. Responsible for sales to assigned accounts and local retail establishments or individuals at plant office, store, or customer's place of business by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Directly responsible for developing new accounts in specified territory and is responsible for sales to assigned accounts and local retail establishments or individuals at plant office, store, or customer's place of business.
Achieves sales and margin budgets.
Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
Stays abreast of all building permits in assigned area.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of the products sold, product usage, product prices, and new products on the market.
Displays or demonstrates various building supply products, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features.
Performs takeoffs on specific building projects and provides quotes for these projects.
Quotes products and materials based on the specifications and quantities provided by the customer and follows up as required. Makes clear in writing all quotations, special orders, and expiration dates.
Obtains customer signature on all special orders.
Maintains knowledge and understanding of local building codes.
Maintains adequate records of required, daily, weekly, or monthly call reports.
Maintains knowledge of company pricing.
Enters orders into the point-of- sale computer system. Complies with company procedures on sales transactions.
Assist the customer in setting up financing arrangements with the company's Credit Department.
Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules.
Develops and maintains relationships with vendors.
Handles complaints with the objective of solving the problem.
Attends Home Builder Association meetings and other trade shows.
Promotes a team concept.
Assists management with special assignments.
