Jr. Property Accountant Job Opening in San Francisco, California - Full-time Junior Property Accountant needed to support a San Francisco-based real estate development and management company. The role will act as primary assistant to the Accounting Manager relating to day-to-day task in A/P, A/R, Leasing, and administrative duties.
Responsibilities:
Support Accounting Manager with day-to-day operation of the property in accordance with policies/procedures, management agreements, and clients? needs
Process weekly check run for multiple entities in Avid Xchange
Research A/P invoice discrepancies and investigate payment issues
Input tenant cash receipts, tenant charges/adjustments, and prepaid rent applications
Prepare tenant invoices from billable work order system or as requested by the Property Management department
Distribute monthly tenant rent statements to Property Management department
Enter tenant leases and move-outs into MRI
Assist Accounting Manager with month-end close and financial reporting preparation
Reconcile balance sheet accounts
Maintain accounting files including payments, cash receipts, property insurance, real estate taxes, loan statements, W-9?s and bank reconciliations.
Provide additional support to Property Management team, as needed
Qualifications:
A minimum of an Associate?s degree required (Accounting or Business Administration preferred)
Minimum of 0-2 years of relevant experience in accounting and/or commercial real estate
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Knowledge in MRI Software, QuickBooks, and Building Engines a plus
Strong critical thinking skills with accurate attention to detail.
Ability to work independently when necessary and effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Capability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and prioritize multiple assignments
