We are looking for a Senior Accountant to prepare financial statements, handling general accounting operations by controlling and verifying our financial transactions and oversee our budgeting and forecasting. We?ll rely on you to provide advice to support our company?s decision-making.
The Senior Accountant responsibilities include reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger and preparing month-end close procedures. A successful Senior accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts. You should be reliable and good at math, and be able to communicate effectively with senior management and various departments. We also want you to be detail-oriented, and possess sharp business acumen.
Responsibilities:
Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivable
Ensure cash flow is appropriate for the organization?s operations
Evaluate the company?s performance using key data
Manage vendor relationships
Assist the company in managing its investment portfolio
Advise on problems and suggest improvements
Make forecasts to assist business planning and decision-making
Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
Conduct risk assessment and advise on ways to minimize risk
Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
Participate in financial standards setting and in forecast process
Provide input into department?s goal setting process
Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule
Assist with tax audits and tax returns
Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance
Plan, assign and review staff?s work
Support month-end and year-end close process
Analyze finances to determine risks and create forecasts
Prepare budgets and monitor expenditures
Consolidate and analyze financial statements and results
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Ensure compliance with GAAP principles
Requirements:
Proven experience as a financial controller, accounting supervisor, chief or senior accountant
In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Awareness of business trends
Familiarity with financial accounting statements
Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, like FreshBooks and QuickBooks
In-depth experience in risk analysis, budgeting and forecasting
Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
Accuracy and attention to detail
Organizational and leadership skills
Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
An analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude
BS degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant
Relevant certification (e.g. CMA or CPA) will be preferred

Salary: $45,000.00 to $70,000.00 /year
