Position Summary and Key Responsibilities:
The VP of Operations is responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of our facilities including management of the profit and loss statement for the hospital?s business. The VP, Operations provides management oversight for the development of high quality, cost effective, and integrated day to day operations within the hospital. This is a key leadership role in our hospital operations in Southern California and reports directly to the CA SVP of Hospital Operations.
Responsibilities :
Participates in development of service line operating plans, organizational structure and objectives for efficient and effective management.
Participates in recruitment and retention of hospital personnel and various department heads.
Participates in the development and implementation of the mission, vision, and values of the hospitals, including the deliverance of high quality, patient focused health care.
Resolves problems related to staffing, utilization of facilities, equipment and supplies for the hospitals.
Participates in the evolution and refinement of the quality improvement process.
Develop working relationships with all the directors and managers of each facility to establish cost controls, staffing metrics, utilization of services, etc.
Undertakes special projects as directed by the President/CEO.
Participates in the establishment and implementation of organizational policies and procedures.
Interprets policies, objectives, and operational procedures.
Minimum Education and Skills Required for Consideration:
Bachelor?s degree in healthcare or business. Master?s degree preferred.
Healthcare Leadership experience within the state of California preferred.
Minimum of 5 years hospital experience in an acute care, for profit setting.
Knowledge of fiscal management and human resource management techniques.
Excellent leadership skills with demonstrated ability to effectively lead in a changing environment.
Knowledge of governmental regulations and compliance requirements.
Additional Requirements:
Skilled in planning, organizing, prioritizing, delegating and supervising. Skilled in exercising initiative, judgment, problem-solving, decision-making. Skilled in identifying and resolving problems. Ability to anticipate and react calmly in emergency situations. Skilled in developing and maintaining effective relationships with medical and administrative staff, patients, and the public. Skilled in developing comprehensive reports. Ability to analyze and interpret complex data. Skilled in developing and maintaining hospital quality improvement. Excellent and effective written and verbal communication skills.
