Responsibilities
The Healthy School Food Collaborative Manager will be responsible for the following:
Financial Management (60% of time)
Support the Executive Director in maintaining the financial security of the nutritional program and compliance requirements on a Federal, State, and local level and meeting management fee collection target
Assist in processing reimbursements for school partners and ensuring they are submitted monthly on a timely basis
Assist in creating, sending, and retention of timely and accurate reimbursement reports for school partners
Assist in timely and accurate submission of internal financial documents related to processing federal reimbursement claims, invoicing of SFA management fees, and other related processes.
Assist in preparation and requirements of federal, state, and local audits.
Develop and support director in ongoing school monitoring in preparation for federal audit
Assist in tracking the online meal payments and processing of funds to school partners
Local Procurement (20% of time)
Support the development and implementation of local procurement by Food Service Management Companies so that all partners meet and exceed the 5% local procurement requirement of the HSFC.
Attend and participate in meetings with stakeholders such as school partners, farmers, state officials, and also non-profit administrators aimed to improve local procurement efforts.
Develop system to track and monitor the local procurement of all vendors
Coordinating local food purchasing from farms by schools and other institutions
Supervising the scheduling and delivery of educational programs and events including taste tests, farm field trips and in-class workshops
Maintaining a database of school, farm and partner contacts
Designing and distributing outreach and publicity materials about local procurement including website maintenance and newsletters.
Food Quality Monitoring (20% of time)
Help facilitate the Louisiana Public Health Institute?s monitoring of the food service management companies? compliance with food quality standards set by the HSFC.
Help with the monitoring analysis of the FSMCs.
Help with the implementation of the consumption study by visiting schools, responding to requests by Director, and coordinating with staff members.
Help coordinate menu analysis by gathering menus and spot checking school sites. This may involve monthly or quarterly monitoring site visits; document results and observations from site visits for review with clients
General Food Service Administration
Support Director of the program in the general day to day requests.
Help organize and file department procedures and State required documents.
Help respond to communications from school staff.

Accounting/finance experience (preferred)
Operations background (preferred)
Understanding of New Orleans school system and regulations (preferred)
Minimum of a bachelor?s degree (preferred)
