Software Developer / Debugger Job Opening in Dayton, Ohio - Technical Skills Required:
1) Bachelor's Degree Engineering
2) Primary: C++, Matlab/Simulink
3) Secondary: Git Version Control, Visual Studio, Python, CAN
4) Will need to be in Peoria for 3-4 months for training.
Candidate Responsibilities:
The software engineer is responsible to:
Learn and understand the modelling standards and act as the champion for maintaining these standards in the Dayton site
Actively participate in software development, design reviews and product testing
Work with project teams to ensure technical solutions meet product requirements
Success in this position involves:
Working effectively with the application domain experts and other software developers located in multiple sites
Working within the established process framework
Demonstrating a set of fundamental software engineering skills that result in predictability in engineering, scheduling and the quality of products developed.
Typical Day: Daily standup followed by task assignments. Tasks include software development or software bug fixing. Validation of code and peer reviews.
Description/Comment:
Caterpillar Trimble Controls Technology is one of the joint ventures between Caterpillar and Trimble focused on developing and manufacturing machine guidance and controls systems. The CTCT staff is primarily located in Christchurch, New Zealand, Dayton, Ohio, Chennai, India and Peoria, Illinois. This job is located in Peoria for 3-4 months for training, then relocated to Dayton, OH.
