Grade: Individual Contributor / Department: Administration / Reports to: Manager, Administration
The purpose of the Cash Application Specialist is to serve as a resource to co-workers performing cash applications tasks and to accurately identify cash transactions and post cash transactions to the appropriate Company systems. Success will be measured by the ability to complete assigned tasks successfully, efficiently, and in a timely manner, with little to no errors.

In this pivotal role you will be:
Accurately applying cash collections to the customer?s account using appropriate accounting and business management software. This entails cash received via lockbox, wire, or Automated Clearing House (ACH).
Researching any disputes and following standard operating procedures to correct the issue and/or update the system notes with the status of the activity. This may include utilizing the Company?s accounting and business management software systems to research account activity and post payments as appropriate.
Working with Collections, Financial Operations, and Accounts Receivables teams in researching unapplied cash amounts so that unapplied cash can be kept to a minimum.
Contacting customers via letters, emails, and phone calls to inquire about incomplete information related to payments.
Following up on outstanding issues as appropriate, updating the system notes with the status of the inquiry or activity.
Providing support and written documentation as required to support cash application for SOX controls and audits.
Acting as a resource to answer questions and provide guidance to less experienced co-workers performing cash application tasks.
Performing cash reconciliations against bank accounts and other Company accounts as requested or required.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
1-2 years of experience in accounting and administration
Strong attention to detail, thoroughness, and the ability to analyze information and be an abstract thinker.
Technical experience with Microsoft Office, and general office equipment, including phone systems, printers, scanners, fax machines, etc.
Preferred:
Prior logistics industry experience
College Degree
Experience in Dynamics/Great Plains
Experience with SOX compliance
