PHD Nurse Video:
We are currently accepting applications to fill a full-time position for a Public Health Nurse in Santa Barbara to work in the Healthcare for the Homeless program for the Public Health Department. We will establish an eligible list that may be used for future vacancies in all locations and in other programs.
Ideal Candidates will possess:

Case management skills
Planning, organizational and time management skills
Interpersonal skills
Relationship building skills
Communication skills
Documentation skills
Computer skills
Ability to document nursing process in various data formats
Ability to maintain composure in crisis situations
Understanding of billing policies and procedures with appropriate documentation in Access databases and web interface, care plans and time studies
Flexibility
Availability as a Disaster Worker
Bilingual in English and Spanish highly desirable
Cultural competence
Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a valid Registered Nurse license issued by the California State Board of Registered Nursing and certification in Public Health Nursing.
Benefits:
Benefit Allowance: $236.51 per pay period! (may be used to offset health benefit costs or received as cash)
Vacation: 12 to 25 days per year depending on length of public employment.
Holidays: 12 days per year.
Sick Leave: 12 days sick leave per year. Unlimited accumulation, one year of which can be converted to service credit upon retirement.
Health Plan: Choice of medical (with vision care) and dental plans. County contributes toward the employee's premium.
On-Site Employee Health Clinics in Santa Barbara and Santa Maria: Provides ongoing and episodic services to eligible employees and their eligible dependents over age 15.
NOTE: The County may provide reimbursement for reasonable relocation expenses , and, at the discretion of the CEO, can provide flexible relocation assistance, housing and student loan offsets, cash incentives, and/or vacation and sick leave pre-accruals in the interest of attracting the best talent to the organization.
