Medical Charge Entry Specialist Job Opening in Albany, New york - The Center for Rheumatology, LLP is looking for a self-motivated and organized full time Medical Charge Entry Specialist. This position is accountable for processing medical claim information through data-entry in an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System. This position also researches and corrects data entry errors using various electronic healthcare systems. This individual must have proven ability and understanding of medical charts and assigning the correct diagnoses (ICD-9 or ICD-10) and procedure (CPT-4) codes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Expertise in reviewing and assigning accurate medical coding for diagnoses, procedures, and services in a physician-office setting.
A sound knowledge of medical coding rules and regulations including compliance and reimbursement.
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology necessary to correctly code provider diagnosis and services.
Weekly appointment reconciliation report.
Charge entry of daily charges and ability to communicate clearly and proficiently to providers on any issues.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or GED.
Associate degree preferred but not required.
AAPC or CPC certification preferred but required.
1 to 2 years experience in medical billing office.
Minimum of 1 year experience in healthcare coding and charge entry required.
