Physician Liaison Job Opening in Portland, Oregon - Shriners Hospitals for Children ? Portland is seeking a full-time experienced Physician Relations Liaison to establish and enhance relationships with healthcare professionals that have direct input on patient referrals to its specialty pediatric orthopedic services. The primary role of the liaison is to enhance the awareness of SHC?Portland?s pediatric orthopaedic service lines that result in increased referrals of new patients. The liaison is responsible for strategically planning and implementing outreach efforts in the SHC?Portland market area (Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Alaska and Canada) with the goal of maximizing patient referral opportunities for inpatient and outpatient services.
Responsibilities:
Facilitates referral source development, maintenance and expansion through relationship building strategies, marketing and education
Identifies and provides promotion and education to physicians, physician office staff, clinics and other healthcare providers. Activities include presentations, public appearances, displaying at conferences, and other related actions
Attends health-related conferences, fairs, etc. to educate professionals and the public on services offered and the patient referral process
Engages and utilizes hospital staff to support and participate in external events or activities
Conducts ongoing market assessments and utilizes marketing techniques in cultivating new referral sources and contacts determined by the Business Development Director
Suggests performance improvement and marketing strategies based on physician feedback, identifies opportunities to build volume, and provides follow-up to referring physicians in conjunction with the Business Development Director
Meets hospital utilization goals for referrals, outpatient visits, admissions, and surgeries per month
Education:
Bachelor?s degree required. Sales and/or marketing experience preferred, health care experience a bonus.
Training and Experience:
2-4 years? experience in a sales/marketing related position.
Successful experience in sales and/or physician liaison experience with a proven track record of goal attainment in target markets with providers is strongly preferred.
Hospital experience a plus
Public speaking experience
Skills and Knowledge:
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently, and within a team
Demonstrated time management, organization, problem solving and decision-making skills.
Need to demonstrate skills, persistence, and flexibility, plus efficiently and effectively manage multiple tasks and projects.
Working knowledge of computer applications, proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word required
Work hours:
Full time. Benefits provided. Some evenings and weekends required.
Driver?s license required, with proven safe driving record.
Willingness and ability to travel up to 30% of your time in The Portland Shriner Hospital?s catchment area (Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Alaska, and Canada) in own vehicle.
